Permaweb DAO

Permaweb DAO is an infrastructure organisation built around Arweave permanent storage and the ao compute protocol, founded in 2021; its main product is Permacast, a permanent media network. Creators write podcasts, music and video to Arweave, where episodes remain exactly as published rather than depending on a centralised host's renewal; billing follows a pay-once, store-forever model, with storage and ownership recorded on-chain. The application layer has moved to Load Network, a high-performance EVM chain that offloads storage to Arweave and handles computation through ao and HyperBEAM, while earlier versions used SmartWeave contracts on Arweave and the EXM layer. An AI media intelligence layer sits on top, producing summaries, semantic tags, sentiment analysis and trend detection, while a wallet-bound media identity and social graph link creators, listeners and content so a single file becomes a searchable, reusable structured record.

PWT, the platform's token, is issued on BNB Smart Chain and meters application-level work such as content writes, indexing and semantic processing. On 24 August 2026 Kraken enabled deposits and spot trading for PWT, with app trading and instant buy pending sufficient liquidity. In January 2026 Permacast partnered with the Web3 wallet Cache Wallet on long-term storage and asset access.
