About PDAX
PDAX, founded in 2018, is a BSP-licensed crypto exchange in the Philippines. Key milestones include: 2020 launch of its mobile app, enabling easy access to crypto trading. In 2022, it introduced PDAX Prime, an exclusive service for high-volume investors. A landmark move came in 2023 when PDAX partnered with Bonds.ph to offer tokenized government treasury bonds, making government securities accessible to retail investors via blockchain. That same year, it collaborated with GCash to launch GCrypto, bringing crypto trading to millions of GCash users. PDAX also secured $50 million in Series B funding led by Tiger Global in 2023, strengthening its infrastructure. These developments underscore its role in bridging traditional finance and digital assets, fostering financial inclusion in the Philippines.
Over the past six months, PDAX expanded stablecoin access: in April, it added USDC on World Chain; in July, it added USDT and USDC on Avalanche. In August, PDAX and RCBC signed an MOU to explore asset tokenization, starting with tokenized gold via RCBC's digital banking channels, aiming to make traditionally hard-to-access assets more practical for Filipinos. Looking ahead, PDAX's official roadmap centers on asset tokenization, including the 'Project Bayani' research initiative with Saison Capital and Onigiri Capital, and expanding access to tokenized government bonds and real-world assets, leveraging regulated digital asset infrastructure to advance financial inclusion in the Philippines.
