About Onchain
Onchain is a blockchain research and content organization run by Onchain AG in Zug, Switzerland together with the non-profit Onchain Foundation, producing industry research reports, a digital magazine and a print publication for entrepreneurs, investors and enterprises across DeFi, layer 2, DePIN and RWA, combining hypothesis-testing deduction with grounded theory and offering its own data tools and podcasts. Its angle is that enterprise understanding of blockchain stays theoretical, so reports break down revenue models and growth logic for concrete use cases instead of summarizing market moves.
Membership is carried by an Ethereum membership NFT that grants long-term access to research along with identity and event benefits, while the Insights Marketplace lets researchers publish work that is ranked by community ratings and paid by contribution. Beyond reports, the organization runs a digital magazine, a print publication and an online store, its readership includes enterprises that have not engaged with Web3, and research findings are broken into short articles distributed through social channels.
Onchain Foundation is the foundation behind the Lisk blockchain, responsible for network upgrades, governance and ecosystem treasury, and has been steering Lisk from its sidechain framework toward an Ethereum Layer 2 since 2018.
On August 19, 2026, Onchain Foundation announced it had become a strategic shareholder in Swiss blockchain advisory and investment firm Trust Square Ecosystem AG, strengthening its institutional and compliance positioning. During the same year the foundation completed a buyback of 9,854,400 LSK and, in its 2026 strategy update, discontinued its research services line to concentrate resources on core products and ecosystem building.
Future strategy and roadmap: Onchain Foundation plans to keep advancing Lisk's Ethereum Layer 2 path and network performance upgrades, stabilize token economics through buybacks and governance tooling, and expand institutional collaboration through its strategic shareholder and partner network.
