About Noble
Noble is a purpose-built asset issuance blockchain originally designed for the Cosmos ecosystem, now transitioning into an EVM-compatible Layer 1. Its core business is natively issuing stablecoins and yield-bearing assets—most notably USDC, EURC, and its own USDN—directly on-chain, eliminating the need for wrapped tokens and reducing counterparty risk. These assets are distributed across 50+ IBC-connected chains and, since March 2026, also across EVM networks via CCTP.
Its core value proposition is acting as a neutral liquidity hub: assets are minted natively (not bridged), ensuring 1:1 backing and seamless cross-chain movement. The network offers sub-500ms finality and is optimized for institutional-grade stablecoin flows, including FX trading and treasury-backed yield products.
The main market pain point Noble addresses is the fragmentation and security risk of cross-chain liquidity. Traditional bridges are vulnerable to hacks and create wrapped-asset liquidity pools that are inefficient. Noble solves this by being a single, trusted issuance point where assets are born native and move freely via IBC and CCTP.
In the past six months (Feb–Aug 2026), Noble launched its new EVM Layer 1 mainnet on March 18, 2026, marking a major architectural shift from Cosmos SDK to a standalone chain powered by Commonware and Reth. This migration introduced native EVM support while maintaining IBC interoperability. However, a notable negative event occurred: on August 17, 2026, Coinbase ended support for USDC deposits and withdrawals on the Noble network, meaning funds sent via that path after the cutoff date are permanently lost. This highlights the risk of dependency on centralized exchange network support, though USDC on Noble itself remains fully operational.
Noble, a general-purpose asset issuance chain built for the IBC ecosystem, has evolved through several milestones with long-term significance. Since its inception in 2023, Noble has processed over $22 billion in transaction volume, establishing itself as a key liquidity hub for stablecoins in the Cosmos ecosystem. In a major strategic pivot, Noble announced its migration from the Cosmos ecosystem to an independent EVM Layer 1 network, marking a fundamental shift in its architecture and positioning. This transition, expected to launch mainnet on March 18, 2026, aims to leverage the EVM ecosystem while maintaining its focus on stablecoin infrastructure. Noble also launched USDN, a US dollar-pegged stablecoin built on M^0's protocol, representing a significant innovation in stablecoin design. The project secured $15 million in Series A funding led by Paradigm, validating its approach. Additionally, Noble facilitated the launch of euro stablecoin EURe by Monerium and collaborated with Ondo to introduce the native yield stablecoin USDY on Cosmos, expanding its multi-currency stablecoin offerings. These developments collectively position Noble as a pioneering force in cross-chain stablecoin infrastructure, transitioning from a Cosmos-native chain to a broader EVM-compatible platform.
Major progress (2026-03-15 to 2026-09-15):
On March 18, 2026, Noble launched its standalone EVM L1 mainnet, migrating from Cosmos SDK to a Reth-based chain with Commonware Simplex consensus. It features sub-second finality (<500ms), permissionless deployment, and the native yield-bearing stablecoin USDN.
Noble integrated Orbiter for one-click cross-chain orchestration, supporting IBC inbound and CCTP outbound transfers.
On September 10, 2026, Circle announced it will sunset USDC on Noble: minting stops October 13, CCTP V1 burn limits decline from October 31, full pause December 1, and complete halt January 12, 2027. Noble will not receive CCTP V2, significantly impacting Cosmos liquidity.
Future focus:
- Build stablecoin applications: payments, FX, embedded DeFi, and agentic commerce.
- Launch an FX DEX for USD/EUR pairs and FX perpetuals.
- Deploy Managed Vaults using Pendle strategies to boost USDN yields.
- Serve as clearance/settlement chain for card-linked and P2P payments.
- Use $NOBLE as governance and economic alignment asset.
- Migrate assets from the Cosmos chain to the EVM L1; the Cosmos chain will enter maintenance mode while IBC connections remain unchanged.
