About Netki
Netki is a US digital identity and compliance technology company founded in 2014, with OnboardID for document verification, liveness detection and identity proofing, TransactID for Travel Rule compliance that exchanges originator and beneficiary data between VASPs over BIP 75, and DeFi Sentinel, a compliance oracle for DeFi protocols covering real-time wallet screening, transaction monitoring and risk scoring. It addresses the AML obligations that virtual asset service providers face at onboarding and on cross-institution transfers, exchanging identity data under standards such as IVMS 101 and meeting GDPR and CCPA requirements.
Its clients are exchanges, wallets, VASPs and traditional financial institutions, it handled large-scale onboarding verification for El Salvador's Chivo wallet, and in May 2024 it brought DeFi Sentinel to Sui so protocols can screen transactions before finalization. Beyond DeFi, TransactID also covers non-custodial VASPs and decentralized trading, moving identity data peer-to-peer between institutions under BIP 75 instead of through a central directory.
