About NODE
NODE is a non-profit digital art foundation in Palo Alto whose name refers to a networked art architecture; it issues no token and sells no nodes. It targets on-chain art that lacks institutional-grade long-term custody and exhibition, where creators and collectors face over-commercialisation. In May 2025 the foundation bought all CryptoPunks intellectual property from Yuga Labs, runs the official marketplace, set up an advisory board including the original creators, operates a full Ethereum node in a physical space, and publishes brand guidelines plus a guidance file for AI agents.
Placing the IP with a non-profit treats the avatar collection as an art-historical object rather than a commercial brand, shifting the revenue model to exhibitions and donations. Its Palo Alto space opened on 23 January 2026 with a debut show presenting all 10,000 CryptoPunks through 12 April; a digital artist's solo show then ran to 28 June, and the gallery is free Thursday to Sunday.
Around the CryptoPunks IP, the NODE Foundation established a $25M endowment to support long-term curation, research, and community operations, and to advance the institutional presentation of NFT cultural heritage. In 2026 its physical space became a key node for Web3 art and collecting exchange.
