About Moralis

Moralis is an enterprise-grade Web3 API platform that provides unified, cross-chain blockchain data services. Its core products include the Data API for on-demand reads, Streams for real-time event webhooks, Datashare for exporting historical datasets, and a Data Indexer for custom pipelines. The platform supports over 50 chains, including Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, and Avalanche, with a single standardized schema.

The main value proposition is simplifying multi-chain development. Instead of building and maintaining in-house indexers and RPC nodes, developers can integrate one API to access wallet balances, token prices, NFT metadata, and transaction history. This addresses the pain point of high infrastructure costs and fragmented data sources across different blockchains.

In the past six months, Moralis has focused on expanding its data coverage and improving enterprise features. The company has emphasized compliance certifications such as SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, and has continued to enhance its Streams service with guaranteed message delivery. New documentation and integration guides have been released to support developers, though no major product launches were publicly announced during this period. The platform remains widely used by wallets and DeFi applications, with no significant negative incidents reported in the last two years.

Updated: Aug 29, 2026

Moralis, founded in 2021 by Ivan Liljeqvist and Filip Martinsson, emerged as a Web3 development platform aiming to lower entry barriers for developers. Its initial offering, a Firebase-like backend for dapps, quickly gained traction.

A pivotal milestone came in 2022 with the release of Moralis 2.0, a strategic pivot to an API-first approach. This shift, coupled with a $40 million Series A led by EQT Ventures and participation from Coinbase Ventures, solidified its position as a leading provider of enterprise-grade Web3 data infrastructure.

Subsequent long-term developments include the launch of Moralis Streams for real-time on-chain event listening and the introduction of Moralis Nodes, offering high-performance RPC endpoints. In 2024, the platform expanded its data layer with Data API and Data Feeds, enabling customizable data pipelines for enterprises.

These milestones transformed Moralis from a simple development tool into a comprehensive onchain data platform, now supporting 30+ chains and serving thousands of developers, underpinning its mission to accelerate Web3 mass adoption.

Over the past six months, Moralis has continued to expand data coverage and API capabilities. Key progress includes: launching Solana and Bitcoin Streams for real-time webhooks; adding full Bitcoin support to the Universal API (blocks, transactions, addresses, xpubs, market data); increasing indexed Solana DEX programs to 11, with DeFi API covering ~90% of Solana TVL across top protocols; expanding EVM DeFi API to 5,000+ protocols (~96% of market) with multichain queries in one call; and releasing Cross-Chain Token Balances, Token Price Time Series/Sparkline, Wallet Insights, and PnL API endpoints. The company also began sunsetting Fantom, selected testnets, and Solana Token Score, while removing legacy Cortex/Deep Index endpoints.

Future focus: Data Feeds is in early access, letting teams continuously sync Moralis data into their own databases; the roadmap says Solana will be added to Cross-Chain Token Balances, with continued expansion of Solana DeFi and Bitcoin coverage.
