About Mantis

Mantis is a Layer 2 (L2) solution built on Solana that combines restaking with an intent-centric architecture to address friction in cross-chain DeFi. Its core business revolves around providing trust-minimized bridging, allowing users to express desired outcomes (intents) while a network of solvers competes to execute the most efficient routes. This design aims to simplify user experience and optimize execution across multiple blockchain ecosystems, leveraging Solana's speed and the security of restaked assets.

The main market pain point Mantis tackles is the complexity and inefficiency of moving assets and interacting with applications across different chains. Traditional bridges often require multiple steps, involve trust assumptions, and can be costly. Mantis aims to resolve these issues by abstracting the underlying chain complexities and using a competitive solver network to find optimal paths, potentially reducing costs and improving speed.

In the past six months (2026-03-03 to 2026-09-03), Mantis has seen significant price volatility. According to available data, its token reached an all-time high of $32 on 2026-03-30 but has since declined sharply, trading around $16 by early September 2026, representing a drop of over 50% from its peak. The project appears to still be in its early stages, as it may not yet be listed on major centralized exchanges, and there is no established track record for shorting or derivatives trading. This indicates that while the technology and narrative are compelling, the project is still developing its market presence and facing typical challenges of a new entrant in the crypto space.

Updated: Sep 3, 2026

In September 2024, Mantis was officially unveiled at Solana Breakpoint 2024, positioned as Solana's first SVM-based restaked L2. It adopts an intent-centric architecture with native IBC support, aiming to unlock cross-chain trading and yield generation across Solana, Ethereum, and Cosmos ecosystems .

On December 7, 2024, mainnet went live, with cross-chain trading available and cumulative volume reaching $35 million, while undergoing an OtterSec security audit; its restaking mechanism and solver network provide a trust-minimized execution path for cross-chain DeFi .

On January 16, 2025, CertiK Ventures announced an investment in Mantis, signaling recognition of its architecture and long-term direction . On February 11, 2025, the $M token went live for trading, activating the network's economic layer and laying the foundation for governance and incentives . Together, these milestones outline Mantis's trajectory as key infrastructure in the Solana ecosystem.
