Major progress (Mar–Sep 2026):
• Completed a $6.4M pre-seed round at a $40M valuation in August 2026, led by Village Global with participation from Cambrian, North Island Ventures, Finality Capital, Relay Digital, and angels including Dwarkesh Patel and Byrne Hobart.
• Finalized product suite: valuation futures, equity perps (AI-linked names), compute perps (based on SemiAnalysis indices), and AI-focused prediction markets (ARC AGI, SWE-Bench, HLE).
• Designed a 200ms batch-auction matching engine on MegaETH, with unified portfolio margin and fully non-custodial settlement.
• Launched private beta on MegaETH testnet; mainnet is targeted for summer 2026, accompanied by a Hyperliquidity Provider-style liquidity vault.
Future focus and roadmap:
• Build end-to-end trading infrastructure for the AI economy, covering GPU pricing, private AI lab valuations, benchmarks, and equity exposure.
• Prioritize liquidity via a single HLP-style vault and deeper cross-margining.
• Expand team by hiring 3–6 full-time staff across development and growth.
Stephen Grugett (SG): Co-founder & CEO of MNX. Previously founded Manifold Markets, a social prediction market platform. He worked at Susquehanna International Group and holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Yale University.
Ian Shea: Co-founder & CTO of MNX. He co-founded Manifold Markets and has built multiple ventures, including Bluterra (AI for waste analysis) and Etherize (blockchain services). He has extensive full-stack development experience.
Alex Masmej: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of MNX. He previously founded Showtime, a consumer crypto app, and was involved with MetaCartel DAO and the $ALEX token. He has raised over $8M from Paradigm and Dragonfly.
MNX (Decentralized AI Futures Exchange) recently welcomed a new team member: Alex Masmej joined in September 2026 as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). He previously founded Showtime and other crypto consumer apps, bringing extensive Web3 marketing experience. MNX was created by the founders of Manifold Markets, focusing on leveraged trading and prediction markets for AI economy assets. Alex's addition will drive MNX's brand promotion and user growth, supporting the platform's market strategy ahead of its mainnet launch in summer 2026.
