About Lybra Finance

Lybra Finance issues an interest-bearing stablecoin collateralised by liquid staking tokens. Users deposit stETH, rETH and similar assets, borrow dollar-pegged tokens against them, and staking yield from the collateral is used to buy the stablecoin and distribute it to holders, giving it an annual yield of roughly 8%.

The mechanism requires at least 150% collateralisation, with liquidators repaying debt and taking collateral at a discount below the threshold. Because yield keeps flowing in, the stablecoin tends to trade above one dollar, and the protocol runs a premium suppression process that returns the excess. A second version circulates across networks through cross-chain messaging so it can be used as collateral in lending and trading protocols, converting back with accrued interest on redemption. Governance votes set collateral scope and fee parameters, and collateral has widened from a single asset to several liquid staking tokens.

Lybra Finance charges a 0.5% fee on the redeemed amount for rigid redemption of eUSD, paid in full to the user who provides redemption liquidity; redeeming 1,200 eUSD with ETH at $1,500 leaves the user with 0.796 ETH after a 0.004 ETH redemption fee.
