About Kintsu

Kintsu is a composable liquid staking protocol on the Monad network. Users deposit MON tokens and receive sMON as staking receipts, whose value appreciates as staking rewards accrue. Users can deploy sMON in DeFi scenarios such as lending and liquidity provision, unlocking liquidity while securing the network.

Its core competitiveness lies in its DAO-governed validator registry mechanism, where KSU token holders vote to determine which validators receive delegated stake, enhancing decentralization. The protocol adopts an MEV-agnostic design, allowing validators to freely choose their infrastructure.

Regarding market pain points, traditional staking locks up funds, preventing users from participating in other on-chain activities. Kintsu addresses this through liquid staking tokens. The protocol launched at Monad's genesis block, accumulating 201 million MON in TVL within three weeks, approximately $5.6 million, with staking APY around 13%.

Over the past six months, Kintsu launched its points program in preparation for KSU token distribution. It also introduced the superMON vault, allocating funds across multiple DeFi strategies. sMON has been integrated into major protocols including Euler, Curvance, Morpho, and Uniswap.

Updated: Sep 2, 2026

In the past six months, Kintsu’s most significant milestone was its brand and business expansion. On August 20, 2026, it announced that Cenote would be folded into Kintsu, with the launch of Kintsu Capital Markets — infrastructure for confidential credit markets, curated market structures, and programmable financial infrastructure for tokenized assets on Canton Network; the Cenote brand is being retired. Liquid staking remains core, with sMON and sHYPE continuing to operate, and Canton staking (sCC) is planned in two stages: app-level staking SDK first, then liquid, composable sCC. Additionally, Kintsu Credit launched on Canton TestNet in July, including isolated lending markets, collateral deposits, borrowing/repayment, interest accrual, and Canton-native settlement; a private MainNet deployment is the next stage. The official roadmap shows Monad and HyperEVM are available now, while Canton is being rolled out in stages. Going forward, all research and product communications will be unified under Kintsu.
