About Hemera
Hemera is an account-level indexing protocol for on-chain data, aimed at the layer that aggregates assets and behaviour by address. Indexers such as The Graph work at the level of contract events and logs, so account-level queries need bespoke ETL; Hemera's Account-Centric Indexing keeps each address's holdings, trades and social graph as live state, with developers declaring parsing logic as User-Defined Functions shared across the network. Queries run over SQL or GraphQL, or through a fine-tuned model in natural language.
The product line pairs the protocol with the SocialScan explorer, used by Polygon, Linea, Mantle and Taiko in place of self-built explorers and saving index and operations spend; nodes are assigned work against stake. The split with subgraph tooling is granularity: one targets contracts, the other account semantics. Wallets, social and gaming apps consume the account-level output directly, and a new chain does not have to build a parsing pipeline from scratch.
October 14, 2026, Hemera open-sourced v0.4.0 of its account-centric indexer, hemera-indexer, following v0.2.0 and v0.3.0 releases in August that unified configuration, enabled PostgreSQL data reads, and improved installation. The protocol is public-goods data infrastructure for Web3.
Hemera uses user-defined functions (UDFs) to organize on-chain data into account-level semantic features, serving block explorers, on-chain portfolios, and social graphs.
Future strategy and roadmap: Hemera will keep iterating the open-source indexer and advance roadmap items such as user-defined AI agents, standardizing Web3 data access and LLM capabilities and opening its account-centric indexing network to developers.
