About Guild
Guild is a no-code platform for community access and role management, serving DAOs and token-gated communities since 2021. It addresses manual eligibility checks that cannot keep up: communities express holdings, NFT ownership, on-chain history, GitHub commits and third-party reputation scores as boolean rules, users sign to prove address control, and Guild reads public chain state to grant or revoke roles in Discord, Telegram, GitHub and Google Workspace, with permissions dropping as soon as conditions stop being met.
Rules support nested AND/OR logic and tiers, so one community can separate newcomers, active users and contributors; Guild Citizenship layers a humanity score over wallet age and social account history for sybil filtering. Its division of labour with Collab.Land is that permission logic becomes a composable condition engine rather than a single balance lookup, which suits multi-chain, multi-credential communities. Coverage is mostly EVM chains, with non-EVM assets read through mirrors rather than natively.
In 2020, Guild was founded in Szeged, Hungary, to build membership management and token-gating infrastructure for onchain communities.
On September 8, 2021, Guild created the open-source frontend repository guildxyz/guild.xyz on GitHub and continued iterating publicly.
On February 16, 2022, Messari records show Guild received a seed investment from Backdrop; the amount was not disclosed.
On January 31, 2024, Guild deprecated SDK 1.x and required developers to migrate to V2, marking a milestone in its developer infrastructure.
On March 14, 2024, Guild applied to Octant for operating funds and disclosed a team of 27, including 20 developers.
On December 15, 2025, Guild announced the acquisition of Nostra, a multichain DeFi application on Starknet, planning to rename and restructure it and to involve Nostra token holders in a Guild joint venture slated for announcement in Q1 2026.
In 2026 Guild's v2 runs on era.guild.xyz, extending composable requirement logic to more than 60 EVM networks and over 100 integrations spanning Discord, Telegram, GitHub and Google Workspace, with more than 16,000 communities created. Managers still set conditions without code, so holding a token or a specific NFT collection grants the matching role, and verification settles on-chain before syncing to each platform.
The focus has shifted from role syncing to portable membership. Users mint soulbound Guild Pins across communities, and the accumulated pins and points form a cross-community record that lets projects filter by real on-chain behaviour rather than form fields. For smaller teams the stack puts segmentation, airdrop allowlists and campaign incentives in one backend, cutting the upkeep of custom bots and scripts.
Guild will turn membership and points into a reputation layer other apps can read, add verifiers for non-EVM ecosystems, and let communities route incentive budgets directly into roles and tasks.
