About Goblintown

Goblintown is a free-minted NFT collection of 9,999 grotesque goblin avatars launched in May 2022. Its official website explicitly states "no roadmap, no Discord, no utility," and the project adopts a CC0 license, allowing anyone to freely commercialize the artwork. The core narrative is anti-commercialization and satirical, using deliberately ugly and absurd designs to mock the over-commercialized NFT industry, contrasting sharply with polished projects like BAYC.

Market pain points addressed: the NFT market was flooded with high-priced, roadmap-driven projects that prioritized branding over expression. Goblintown stripped away all promises, offering pure aesthetic rebellion and community-driven interpretation.

Development over the past six months (2026-03-04 to 2026-09-04): The project has largely faded from active trading. On-chain data shows the GOBLINTOWN token on Solana has a market cap of approximately $7,300, with 24-hour trading volume of only $1.77. The price is down 96.6% from its all-time high of $0.0002180 in June 2026, and has only recovered 15.6% from its all-time low in August 2026. Trading activity is minimal, with the primary pair GOBLINTOWN/WSOL on PumpSwap seeing no trades in the past three hours. The original Ethereum NFT collection's floor price has also dropped significantly from its June 2022 peak of 6.2 ETH to around 0.9 ETH, with daily sales volume falling to roughly $100,000.

Negative information within two years: The project's popularity was partly driven by misleading marketing, including false associations with celebrities like Steve Aoki and Beeple, who both denied any connection. After the hype faded, the floor price collapsed by over 85% from its peak, and numerous copycat projects (e.g., GoblinGrlz, BabyGoblintown) emerged, diluting the brand. The current liquidity is extremely thin, with near-zero trading activity.
