About GammaSwap

GammaSwap is a modular extension layer for DeFi liquidity, evolving from its V1 AMM-based volatility market into V2, a binary prediction market for crypto prices. Its core business is a hybrid order book and AMM platform where users bet on whether an asset will be up or down within short durations (e.g., 15 minutes, 1 hour). The key differentiator is its off-chain sequencer with on-chain settlement on Base, achieving 100–200ms latency while preserving self-custody and transparency. This addresses the pain points of legacy conditional token frameworks (CTF) on CLOBs, which suffer from fragmented liquidity, slow redemption, and extra transactions. V2 also solves the issue of AMM liquidity providers being inadequately compensated for volatility risk by allowing borrowers to short impermanent loss. In the past six months (March–September 2026), GammaSwap has focused on launching V2's CLOB for crypto up/down markets, with a public testnet expected before mainnet. The AMM will be integrated later to support less liquid markets and new market types. No major negative events were reported in the last two years beyond the known limitations of V1, such as high collateral requirements and complexity.

Key developments (2026-03-01 to 2026-09-01):

  1. V2 Architecture Launch: GammaSwap announced the shift from V1 (AMM-based options) to V2, a binary prediction market CLOB for crypto up/down and range bets. The hybrid architecture uses an off-chain order book sequencer with on-chain settlement on Base, targeting 100–200ms latency.

  2. $GS Token & LBP: The protocol launched its $GS token via a Liquidity Bootstrapping Pool (LBP), following a 9-month alpha/beta testing period, to scale liquidity and decentralize governance.

  3. Yield Tokens (geETH/geUSDC): GammaSwap introduced yield tokens that replicate spot exposure (e.g., eETH, USDC) while hedging impermanent loss via GammaSwap positions, aiming for 60–80% APY with low risk.

Future roadmap:

  • Launch the CLOB on mainnet (testnet first), starting with short-duration binary markets (1M, 5M, 15M).
  • Integrate the AMM later to support less liquid markets, multiple strikes, and new market types (e.g., range bets) without fragmenting liquidity.
  • V1 remains live but development/incentives shift to V2.
