Details

Foil is a decentralized on-chain resource trading market that allows users to trade futures contracts for Ethereum gas fees and blobspace. By standardizing future gas costs into tradable assets, it helps users hedge against fee volatility. Users can buy or sell gas futures on Foil to lock in costs or speculate. Its mechanism draws on Uniswap v3 liquidity pools and uses UMA oracles for price data, ensuring fair settlement of contracts. Foil aims to provide more predictable on-chain transaction costs for high-frequency traders, DeFi protocols, and rollups.
