About Flowty
Flowty is a peer-to-peer NFT marketplace on the Flow blockchain, offering buying, selling, collateralized lending, and renting. Its core business revolves around NFT-backed loans, where holders can borrow against their assets, and rental services that allow temporary use of NFTs. The platform supports over 150 collections and is built as a permissionless marketplace following Flow's metadata standards, meaning any creator can launch a storefront without direct approval.
The main pain point it addresses is the lack of liquidity and flexibility in NFT ownership. Traditional NFT holders often face difficulty converting assets into cash without selling outright, and renters or borrowers lack a trusted intermediary. Flowty solves this by providing a decentralized platform for these transactions, with smart contracts handling escrow and repayment. Its competitive edge lies in deep integration with Flow's Cadence language and a white-label solution for other projects.
In the past half-year (March to September 2026), Flowty has not published major updates or milestones. However, looking back at the previous year, the platform experienced a significant disruption in late 2025 due to a blockchain exploit on Flow, which paused loan settlements. It resumed operations in January 2026 with adjusted loan terms, including a 14-day minimum duration and a 180-day maximum, to avoid confusion during recovery. No further developments have been reported within the specified period.
Flowty has three co-founders.
