About FingerprintsDAO

FingerprintsDAO is a decentralized autonomous organization focused on collecting, curating, and promoting blockchain-based art, with a particular emphasis on fully on-chain artworks — NFTs where the token itself is the artwork, not just a certificate pointing to external storage. Its core business revolves around building a treasury of seminal on-chain pieces, such as Autoglyphs (the first fully on-chain generative art), Terraforms, and other experimental collections. The DAO also operates a studio that partners with artists to produce novel on-chain projects, including dynamic tokens and generative audio-visual works.

Its core narrative centers on the belief that fully on-chain art is the closest digital equivalent to holding a physical artwork, and that such pieces represent the true innovation of NFTs — moving beyond mere provenance databases. The market pain point it addresses is the fragility and centralization of traditional NFT storage, where artworks often depend on off-chain servers. By championing self-contained smart contracts, FingerprintsDAO aims to ensure permanence, verifiability, and true ownership.

Regarding development in the past six months (2026-03-12 to 2026-09-12), no reliable public information was found. Therefore, no update can be provided for this period.

FingerprintsDAO was launched in April 2021 by a Brazilian collector group, with an initial collection of 20 Autoglyphs—4% of total supply and the world's third-largest Autoglyph holding—establishing its on-chain art curation mission. Autoglyphs, created by Larva Labs in 2019, are the first fully on-chain generative art on Ethereum; after 512 pieces were minted, the generator was shut off permanently, exemplifying a paradigm where artwork and smart contract are one. The DAO initially used the $PRINTS governance token to progressively decentralize, and in 2023 the community voted to migrate to Voxelglyph, a membership NFT designed by Larva Labs—a key governance evolution. That same year, Centre Pompidou acquired works from its collection, including CryptoPunk #110 and Autoglyph #25, bringing on-chain art into the collection of France's National Museum of Modern Art. The DAO also regularly elects curation committees and runs Fingerprints Studio initiatives, continuously building a framework for on-chain art curation, collecting, and creation, with the long-term goal of assembling one of the most valuable DAO treasuries and providing a model for other DAOs.
