About Ferro Protocol
Ferro Protocol is a StableSwap protocol launched on the Cronos chain in 2022, focused on swaps between stablecoins and similar pegged assets. Unlike the constant product curve of generic AMMs, StableSwap uses a curve optimized for price-convergent assets, concentrating liquidity near the 1:1 ratio so large stablecoin swaps see significantly lower slippage than ordinary pools, while retaining the market-maker structure that requires no counterparty.
The protocol organizes incentives through liquidity pools and the governance token FER, with providers earning trading fees and token emissions proportional to pool share. On the pain-point side, the Cronos ecosystem hosts many stablecoins with fragmented denominations, and routing between them through generic AMMs imposes both slippage and amplified impermanent loss; Ferro's curve pushes swap costs between such assets close to the fixed rate. Its positioning is a stablecoin liquidity layer on Cronos, forming a hierarchy with general DEXs like VVS Finance: generic assets through generic pools, stablecoins through StableSwap pools.
Ferro Protocol charges a total swap fee of 0.04% per trade, split into 0.02% for LP rewards, 0.016% for xFER buyback and 0.004% for treasury/admin, with stablecoin pools charged at the same rate.
