About Fenix Games

Fenix Games is a Web 3.0 game publisher focused on publishing, acquiring, and investing in games across the spectrum from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0. Its core narrative centers on democratizing game economies by inviting players to become stakeholders through blockchain and decentralization, aiming to leverage interoperability, DAOs, and cross-chain liquidity in future game economies.

The market pain point Fenix addresses is the traditional closed-loop game economy where players have no ownership or influence over in-game assets and economic rules. By applying blockchain technology, Fenix seeks to give players real asset ownership and a voice in game governance.

In the past six months (March 13, 2026 to September 13, 2026), the most significant development is the legal dispute with Mythical Games. According to reports from March 31, 2026, Mythical Games settled its lawsuit against Fenix Games founders. The lawsuit alleged that the founders misappropriated investor funds intended for Mythical Ventures to establish Fenix Games after leaving Mythical Games in November 2022. The settlement confirmed that the founders are no longer associated with Fenix Games, and the company did not receive the initially announced $150 million in funding. Since announcing a partnership with Immutable in June 2023, Fenix Games has remained largely silent, and this legal resolution marks a notable negative chapter in its history.

Fenix Games was founded in November 2022 by three former Mythical Games executives (Rudy Koch, Matthew Nutt, Chris Ko) with an announced $150M raise from Phoenix Group and Cypher Capital, positioning itself as a Web3 publisher blending VC funding with game publishing. In June 2023, it partnered with Immutable to support mass-market Web3 games. However, in December 2023, Mythical Games sued the founders, alleging they misappropriated a strategic business plan and diverted investor funds. The settlement revealed that Fenix never actually secured the $150M, and all three founders had left the company by July 2023. This legal dispute and funding collapse fundamentally undermined Fenix's original vision, marking a cautionary tale for blockchain gaming.
