About Dfns
Dfns is a wallet-as-a-service platform that provides API-driven digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions. Its core business is helping banks, fintechs, and enterprises deploy and manage blockchain wallets at scale without building their own key management or signing systems.
The company's main value proposition is its position as a pure technology layer: it does not custody assets, does not serve end customers directly, and does not compete with its clients. Instead, it offers tools for key management (using MPC), transaction policy enforcement, workflow approvals, and audit logging across 100+ blockchains.
The market pain point Dfns addresses is the operational complexity of moving institutional money onto blockchains. Traditional financial institutions face security risks, compliance burdens, and fragmented infrastructure when dealing with digital assets. Dfns packages these challenges into a single API, allowing institutions to maintain control and governance while leveraging blockchain rails.
In the past six months (February to August 2026), Dfns underwent a major rebranding, repositioning itself from "wallet infrastructure" to a "core banking platform for digital assets." The company also launched Payouts, a new API that enables institutions to convert stablecoins to fiat and distribute funds across multiple bank accounts while maintaining wallet-level governance. Dfns reports securing over €100 billion in assets, processing roughly 1% of global monthly stablecoin transaction volume, and maintaining zero security breaches since 2020.
Co-founders & Core Executives:
Clarisse Hagège - Founder & CEO. Former investment banker at Crédit Agricole CIB, created the first hydrogen sector in French banking. Founded Dfns in 2020.
Christopher Grilhault des Fontaines - Co-Founder. Background in finance and technology, co-built Dfns' wallet infrastructure.
Noah Cornwell - CTO. Previously Senior Software Engineer, leads engineering at Dfns.
Jared Klee - Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Drives sales and business development.
Leandro Pereira - VP Latin America. Oversees regional expansion and partnerships.
Dfns recently strengthened its leadership by appointing Jared Klee as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) in May 2026. Klee brings deep expertise in digital asset infrastructure and enterprise sales, having previously served as Head of Revenue at Bastion (an a16z-backed stablecoin issuance platform) and held senior roles at Vouch Insurance and IBM, where he helped launch Watson and led blockchain initiatives. His arrival aligns with Dfns' expansion into institutional-grade wallet infrastructure, particularly its new Governance Engine offering zero-trust, on-premise deployment. This move signals Dfns' focus on scaling commercial adoption among banks, fintechs, and payment companies.
