About Inverse Finance
Inverse Finance is a decentralized lending protocol centered on its fixed-rate lending market, FiRM. Unlike typical DeFi lending platforms with variable interest rates, FiRM allows users to borrow DOLA, its dollar-pegged stablecoin, at predictable fixed rates for any duration. Its core competitive edge lies in the DBR (DOLA Borrowing Rights) token mechanism: users can lock DBR to access zero-interest borrowing, creating an efficient, market-driven fee system. Additionally, the protocol employs Personal Collateral Escrow (PCE), which keeps collateral isolated per user rather than pooled, reducing systemic risk from shared liquidity pools.
The primary market pain point Inverse Finance addresses is interest rate volatility in DeFi lending, which complicates financial planning for borrowers. By offering fixed rates, it provides certainty. It also tackles security concerns: PCE mitigates risks associated with pooled collateral, and the protocol has undergone multiple audits.
In the past six months (March to September 2026), Inverse Finance has shown recovery and growth. In April 2026, it raised $2.6 million by selling 104,000 INV tokens to cover a $2.6 million bad debt, reducing its total bad debt exposure to $3.4 million. This followed two exploits in 2022 that caused over $24 million in losses. Concurrently, the protocol reached $100 million in loans on FiRM, signaling renewed adoption. The team has also focused on enhancing DBR utility and expanding collateral types, though specific feature updates remain limited in public disclosures.
