About Crypto Finance Group

Crypto Finance Group is an institutional digital asset services firm founded in 2017 in Zurich, part of Deutsche Börse Group, operating through two regulated entities: Crypto Finance AG in Switzerland with a FINMA securities-firm licence, and Crypto Finance (Deutschland) GmbH in Frankfurt with BaFin licences and MiCAR authorization passportable across the EU. It serves institutions only, offering 24/7 trading, custody and staking: the trading desk aggregates liquidity from more than 15 exchanges and OTC desks across roughly 100 assets and 400+ pairs, while custody generates and stores private keys exclusively in FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified HSMs with segregated, bankruptcy-remote client assets.

Clients are private banks, cantonal banks, asset managers and insurers in Switzerland and the EU — more than 130 institutions, with $4.8 billion traded in 2025. Inside the group, it acts as sub-custodian for Clearstream's crypto custody and as DvP settlement agent for 3DX, the crypto venue of FX platform 360T, connecting to banks via FIX, REST and Swift with T+1 delivery. In 2024 the group sold its asset-management business to Matrixport, narrowing its scope to trading, custody and staking. Against US institutional infrastructure peers it divides labor by being B2B-only and never competing with its bank clients for end customers.
