About Crossmint

Crossmint provides enterprise wallet and stablecoin payment infrastructure through one API covering embedded wallets, fiat ramps, compliance screening and cross-chain routing. Developers can create custodial or non-custodial wallets in bulk for users or AI agents, with keys sharded through MPC and hardware security modules and signatures validated by a server-side policy engine. On the payment side it orchestrates USDC and USDT across more than 50 chains, connects local bank rails, mobile money and cash pickup in over 150 countries, and bundles identity checks, sanctions screening and Travel Rule reporting.

The API splits into four groups: wallets, payments, compliance and routing. Wallet endpoints create accounts in bulk for end users or AI agents, with custodial and non-custodial modes sharing one call; payments orchestrate USDC and USDT across more than 50 chains and connect local bank rails, mobile money and cash pickup in over 150 countries; compliance bundles identity checks, sanctions screening and Travel Rule reporting; routing picks corridors by fee and settlement time. Keys are sharded across MPC and HSMs, and signatures clear the policy engine before release.

Crossmint, a blockchain infrastructure company, has reached several milestones with long-term significance. In March 2024, it completed a $23.6 million funding round led by Ribbit Capital, with participation from Franklin Templeton, Nyca, First Round, and Lightspeed Faction, supporting its expansion into enterprise-grade solutions. In 2025, Crossmint obtained a MiCA license from Spain's CNMV, enabling it to offer stablecoin infrastructure services across all 27 EU member states—a regulatory breakthrough that positions it as a compliant partner for financial institutions navigating Europe's evolving crypto framework. Additionally, the company received a strategic investment from Circle Ventures, strengthening its stablecoin ecosystem integrations, and partnered with Visa to enable AI-driven on-chain payments, bridging traditional finance with emerging agentic commerce. These developments underscore Crossmint's trajectory from a developer tooling platform to a regulated, scalable infrastructure provider for both human and AI-driven economic activity.

In 2026 Crossmint, a stablecoin and wallet infrastructure provider, kept scaling. It secured MiCA authorization on January 14, opening EU digital-asset services; in May it worked with Western Union to support the USDPT stablecoin on Solana, linking over 360,000 cash pickup points, while powering Tala's stablecoin loans and onboarding 470,000-plus users and $2.5 billion in volume for trading app fomo; in April it teamed with Mastercard on AI-agent payments.

Future strategy and roadmap: After its MiCA license, Crossmint keeps bundling programmable wallets, compliance and multi-chain stablecoin orchestration behind one API. It will deepen Western Union's 360k-plus cash points, Tala lending and Mastercard agent payments, and via the Paga deal push enterprise global payouts and agent finance into Africa and Latin America.

Crossmint was founded by two Spanish engineers. Chief executive Rodri Fernández Touza consulted at McKinsey and worked across fintech startups and venture funds before entering Stanford's MBA in 2019 and then Harvard Kennedy School, dropping out mid-way for a four-month retreat at a monastery in upstate New York, after which he committed to building. Co-founder Alfonso Gómez-Jordana is a product person by training: at Google he was the founding product manager for reCAPTCHA, Firebase Auth, the company's first AI agent API and Actions, and before that the third product manager at WhatsApp, writing dApps with Bitcoin Script as far back as 2012. He now owns engineering and product. The two founders own strategy and research respectively; Gómez-Jordana's engineering group is built around senior infrastructure engineers, while Touza sets company direction and external affairs.
