Details

Credits is an artwork by Jack Butcher. Each eligible $8 X Money payment becomes one Credit. Its transaction ID is hashed with SHA-256 into 256 bits, drawn as four 8×8 grids in cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, with the payment timestamp selecting which layers show. Holders can keep Credits or burn 80 to make a Statement. Two Statements can be overprinted so their ink adds; at seven overprints the paper turns permanently black. One of eight formats is drawn on-chain, and only the owner can change it. Statements have a maximum supply of 1,526 and a minimum of 1, and are composed on Ethereum. A Credit Union lets holders pool Credits; at 80 they burn into a Statement, and auction proceeds are split across members.
