About Convex

Details

Convex is a backend development platform for application developers, centered on a real-time data layer that syncs backend state to clients. It provides a database, functions (queries and mutations), and file storage, with an emphasis on end-to-end type safety. Developers create projects via npm, write queries and mutations in TypeScript, and frontends subscribe to data through the SDK; any database change is automatically pushed to clients. Convex uses an operation log (op log) and WebSockets for state sync, and its database is a hybrid relational-document model supporting transactions and indexes.
