About Conduct Protocol

Conduct Protocol is a Bitcoin sidechain specifically designed for stablecoin payments, functioning as a settlement layer rather than a general-purpose smart contract platform. Its core mechanism uses BitVM-style fraud proofs to enable fast, low-cost deposits and withdrawals of BTC and USDC directly on the Bitcoin mainnet, eliminating the need for centralized bridges or wrapped assets. The protocol's native USDC transfers are near-instant and cost fractions of a cent, making it suitable for merchant settlements, remittances, and everyday transactions.

Its primary competitive edge lies in being the first Bitcoin-native payment rail optimized for stablecoins, combining Bitcoin's security with the speed and fee structure expected from modern payment networks. Unlike generic L2s that focus on DeFi or asset issuance, Conduct Protocol is purpose-built for payment flows, offering programmable escrow, batch settlements, and compliance-friendly features.

The market pain point it addresses is the inherent unsuitability of Bitcoin's base layer for high-frequency, low-value payments, while existing sidechains and L2s either lack stablecoin support or rely on trusted bridges that introduce counterparty risk. Conduct Protocol solves this by enabling trust-minimized BTC/USDC transfers with finality in seconds.

In the past six months (March–September 2026), the project launched its public testnet with a bug bounty program, followed by the mainnet beta release in June. It integrated Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) for native USDC bridging and partnered with several payment processors in Latin America and Southeast Asia for pilot merchant programs. In August, the team introduced a developer SDK for payment gateway integration and reported over 200,000 test transactions with zero bridge-related incidents. However, the mainnet has yet to reach full decentralization, as the current validator set is limited to five entities, and the protocol's long-term security assumptions remain unproven under adversarial conditions.
