About Common
Common is a cross-chain governance and community management platform designed to address the fragmentation of DAO operations. It provides a unified interface for managing proposals, voting, treasury, and community discussions across multiple blockchains. Its core innovation is an omnichain execution layer that allows a single vote to trigger actions on different chains, such as funding a grant on Arbitrum while upgrading a contract on Ethereum. The platform also features a universal inbox for members to track all governance activities in one place.
The market pain point is clear: as projects deploy across multiple chains, governance becomes scattered across tools like Snapshot, Tally, and Realms, leading to disconnected decision-making and execution. Common solves this by acting as a modular 'operating system' for DAOs, combining voting, treasury management, and contributor tools with low-code setup.
In the past six months (March to September 2026), Common has focused on integrating AI agents in three phases: first, summarizing posts and drafting content; second, pulling data from Discord, Twitter, and on-chain sources; third, enabling agents to autonomously collect feedback, format proposals, and prototype features for human review. The platform has also expanded partnerships with multiple EVM and non-EVM Layer 1 ecosystems, with new launches expected in the coming months. Privacy enhancements, including zero-knowledge proofs for anonymous identity verification, are a key area of ongoing development. No significant negative events were reported in the last two years.
Dillon Chen (Founder & CEO): Entered crypto in 2013, graduated from Wharton with a degree in Economics. Founded Commonwealth Labs, incubating multiple Web3 projects. Founded Common in 2021 to promote community governance and collaboration through blockchain.
Rhys Hillier (Head of Ecosystem): Currently leads ecosystem growth and partnerships at Common. Previously designed governance frameworks for DAOs, managing treasuries up to $80M. At Common, grew the ecosystem from 1 to 1,000+ active organizations.
