About Calaxy
Calaxy is a creator-economy social application that originally issued creator social tokens on Hedera Hashgraph through the Hedera Token Service, with supporters spending them on video calls, personalized videos and exclusive club subscriptions inside an app that bundles a non-custodial wallet, USDC tipping and on-chain messaging. The project later migrated to Base and introduced WORLDS, creator-owned customizable community spaces reachable at their own URLs and shaped like branded mini-apps, designed to pull attention away from external platforms into spaces the creator controls.
The problem it addresses is that Web2 platforms own distribution and the audience relationship, since on Calaxy a creator is the platform rather than an account. The client ships as a progressive web app to sidestep App Store restrictions on crypto payments and in-app purchase cuts, and creators can both sell paywalled content inside their WORLD and use social tokens for video calls, personalized videos and subscriptions.
Calaxy is a social app for creators, who can issue social tokens and NFTs that fans redeem for video calls, custom videos, paid follows and fan club subscriptions. It was co-founded by Solo Ceesay and former NBA player Spencer Dinwiddie.
In 2026 Base lead Jesse Pollak publicly reassessed the onchain social and creator token strategy, handed the Base app to Cobie and redirected Base toward trading, payments and AI agents. That reshaped Calaxy's main distribution channel, since Calaxy reaches users as a Base mini app. Calaxy's Worlds platform lets creators build token-gated mini apps and keeps ninety percent of their store sales.
Future strategy and roadmap: Calaxy needs to rebuild distribution after the Base app change, expand its own wallet, token-gating mechanics and multi-chain payment support, and hold onto its existing creator and fan relationships.
