About Bored Ape Yacht Club

Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is a collection of 10,000 unique ape NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. Each NFT serves as both digital art and a membership card to the Yacht Club, granting holders access to an exclusive community, airdrops, and offline events. Its core competitiveness lies in a strong brand narrative and community culture: BAYC grants holders full commercial rights to their ape images, fostering a wide range of derivative projects and an IP ecosystem.

Regarding market pain points, the NFT space is often criticized for lacking real utility and being dominated by speculation. BAYC attempts to transform NFTs from pure speculative assets into social assets by building identity recognition and practical benefits.

In the past six months (March to September 2026), BAYC has shown a recovery. The floor price rose from around 5 ETH to 10 ETH, with trading volume significantly increasing. Official statements indicated that prices were previously disconnected from holder engagement and undervalued. Additionally, BAYC resolved a long-running lawsuit with RR/BAYC, clarifying copyright ownership and removing legal uncertainty. On the community front, BAYC hosted over 30 offline gatherings worldwide, strengthening connections among holders. Despite market volatility, BAYC continues to solidify its position as a top NFT project through community-driven efforts and IP expansion.

In the past six months (Mar-Sep 2026), BAYC saw several key milestones:

  • Yuga Labs appointed Michael Figge as new CEO, who reframed BAYC as a digital club/identity membership rather than a speculative asset, emphasizing IRL experiences, storytelling, and style. The floor price nearly doubled from its bottom to ~9.8 ETH, trading volume surged, and holder metrics remained stable — supporting the view that NFTs were "oversold".

  • Launched the Anchor Drops series, first with King Saladeen, then with Sean Wotherspoon. Subsequently kicked off the Manifest apparel series with "Flying Colors", featuring 5 pieces plus a members-only limited item.

  • Accelerated Asia expansion by joining RedNote, Douyin and Kakao, hosting a bilingual (English/Mandarin) Space; the CEO planned visits to Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Seoul to strengthen global community ties.

  • ApeFest 2026 announced for October 17 in Charleston, SC; tickets are now live.

Future focus: shift BAYC from collectibles to utility-driven digital membership, building around community, IRL experiences, storytelling, and style; expand Asian/global communities; advance Otherside and the $APE ecosystem.
