About BoomFi

BoomFi is an enterprise-focused crypto payment infrastructure platform offering an integrated suite of solutions including payment gateway, crypto exchange, on/off-ramp, subscription payments, and exchange-based payments. Its core business helps merchants accept crypto payments and supports automatic conversion of funds into fiat or stablecoins for settlement.

BoomFi's core competitiveness lies in its non-custodial design—the platform never holds user funds, and all transactions are executed via smart contracts, reducing counterparty risk. It also supports multiple chains and currencies, and offers innovative features such as subscription payments (automatic recurring billing) and direct exchange payments (users pay without withdrawing to a wallet first).

Regarding market pain points, traditional crypto payments suffer from poor user experience (manual transfers, long confirmation times), lack of automation (difficult to support subscription models), and high compliance risks (insufficient KYC/AML). BoomFi addresses these by simplifying payment flows (users can pay directly from exchange accounts), providing subscription management tools (auto-debiting, spending limits), and incorporating built-in compliance screening (KYT).

As for developments in the past six months, public information is limited. Based on the official website, the platform has been continuously iterating its products, such as launching the "Pay with Exchange" service that allows users to complete payments directly from major exchanges like Coinbase and Binance without withdrawing first, significantly lowering the entry barrier. Additionally, its subscription payment feature emphasizes smart contract auto-execution and user-revocable authorization, enhancing security and transparency. Overall, BoomFi appears to be evolving from a simple payment gateway into a comprehensive crypto financial infrastructure, though specific partnership cases and business growth figures have not yet been disclosed.

BoomFi, a London-based crypto payment infrastructure company, was founded in 2022 and officially launched in 2023. Its journey began with a $3.8 million seed round led by White Star Capital, with participation from Kraken Ventures, GSR, and founders of Moonpay and Ramp Network, among others. This funding enabled the company to build its universal payment suite bridging fiat and on-chain settlement.

A pivotal milestone came in 2023 when BoomFi secured a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license in Poland, establishing a regulated foundation for its European operations. In March 2025, the company launched BoomFi 2.0, a major platform overhaul that defined the strategic direction of its payment infrastructure, focusing on deeper integration between traditional finance and crypto rails. These regulatory and product milestones position BoomFi as a compliant bridge for businesses entering the crypto payment ecosystem.

In July 2026, BoomFi obtained ISO 27001 certification, strengthening its security and compliance framework. Concurrently, it launched its BoomFi 2.0 strategy, positioning itself as a universal payment partner for SMBs. On the technical front, fintech veteran Chao Yan joined as Co-founder and CTO; he previously founded Elwood, backed by Goldman Sachs and others.

The company officially outlined its future focus on PayFi (Payment Finance), integrating stablecoins, DeFi, and RWAs to lower settlement costs and unlock the time value of money. In compliance, building on its Polish VASP license, it is committed to obtaining a MiCA license in the coming months. On the product side, it will continue to enhance its payment gateway, crypto onramp, and no-code solutions, aiming to enable seamless crypto payment adoption for businesses and become a core partner in the future payment infrastructure.
