About Blockus
Blockus is a Web3 onboarding layer for game studios, covering wallets, payments, NFTs and compliance across Avalanche, Polygon, Solana, Sui, NEAR and Flow. It targets where players drop off onchain: seed phrases, gas and signature pop-ups stop most Web2 players at the first level. Blockus offers custodial and non-custodial wallets; custodial mode hides keys entirely behind studio APIs, while non-custodial mode uses delegated key management and ERC-4337 account abstraction for social recovery and session signing.
On compliance it runs location-based KYC with sanctions and AML screening in the background, and payment coverage across more than 170 countries; studios use SDKs for minting, listing, locking and secondary trading, with white-label and in-game marketplaces sharing one interface. Against building in-house, the difference is bundled compliance and multi-chain routing. Under the custodial setup, ownership records sit in the studio's ledger and changing configurations requires separate reconciliation.
Blockus completed the a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator program, marking the first significant milestone in its development, signifying that its technical approach and business model received recognition from a top-tier venture capital firm.
Subsequently, Blockus announced a $4 million pre-seed funding round led by Maple VC, with participation from Altos Ventures and several angel investors. The funds will be used to expand the team, strengthen sales, and enhance product development, helping it build a full-stack Web3 gaming ecosystem. This marks a key transition from incubation to independent growth.
In 2026 Blockus consolidated wallets, payments and NFT tooling into one SDK for game studios. Multichain wallets are created without the player noticing, sign-in stays on email or social accounts, and the payments layer handles fiat and crypto alongside gasless transactions, KYC and AML checks, analytics APIs, and minting plus listing on a white-label NFT marketplace. Documented support now spans Sui, Solana, Sei, BNB Chain, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon and Avalanche, with a tie to the Soneium ecosystem.
Blockus was among the first a16z Crypto accelerator teams and raised a $4 million pre-seed in March 2024 led by Maple VC, with Altos Ventures and executives from Magic Eden, CreatorDAO and LayerZero participating, by which point it had signed more than 30 partners including Ambrus Studio, the team behind E4C: Final Salvation, and game chains such as Polygon and Sui. It also ran a bounty on token-bound account bridges, letting a character NFT's bound account move items across chains without routing through an externally owned account.
Blockus will absorb the differences between eight chains inside the SDK, package distribution and payments for mid-sized studios, and use compliance work to serve traditional publishers that need KYC.
