About Block Green
Block Green is a financing protocol for bitcoin mining sites and data centres, founded in 2022. A miner's cash flow is future hashrate output, which banks struggle to lend against, so the protocol discounts that future revenue: a Know Your Miner review and credit score bring financials, fleet, power prices and supply contracts into a model that derives a present value and discount rate and creates an Opportunity Vault. Lenders fund in BTC or fiat, the miner posts BTC into a multisig Collateral Vault and redirects hashrate to the protocol's pool, daily mining rewards are distributed to lenders pro rata, and shortfalls trigger automatic deductions from collateral.
One side is open only to accredited institutions that pass AML screening, the other to bitcoin mining and HPC data centres, with returns denominated in BTC. Unlike credit pools secured by receivables, the collateral here is live hashrate and on-chain bitcoin, and repayment comes straight from pool output.
In early 2026, Block Green closed a $3.7 million financing round led by Founders Fund, with proceeds expanding its lending and hashrate-collateral marketplace connecting Bitcoin miners with capital providers. The platform uses miners' future mining rewards and hashrate as on-chain collateral to match institutional liquidity providers.
The Bitcoin mining-lending scenarios Block Green built in 2025 gained further institutional capital support in 2026, as the platform keeps offering transparent loan matching for miners and capital providers.
Block Green plans to keep growing the network of miners and institutional capital providers, deepen Bitcoin hashrate-collateral and yield-rights tokenization products, and explore more diversified mining-finance instruments.
