About Block Earner

Block Earner is an Australia-based fintech company that provides crypto-backed lending services. Its core business allows users to borrow Australian dollars (AUD) by using cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or XRP as collateral, without needing to sell their digital assets. The platform offers two main products: a Line of Credit with a 12-month term and a Fixed Term loan lasting 3 to 5 years. Borrowers can access up to A$5 million with a loan-to-value ratio of up to 50%, and repayments are flexible with no early repayment fees.

The company's key value proposition is enabling crypto holders to unlock liquidity while maintaining exposure to potential price appreciation of their assets. This addresses the pain point of traditional finance, where crypto assets are often not accepted as collateral, forcing holders to sell their holdings and incur taxable events or miss future gains. Block Earner also emphasizes security by using Fireblocks' institutional-grade custody infrastructure, and it operates under an Australian Credit Licence with AUSTRAC registration.

In the past six months (February to August 2026), Block Earner has focused on product refinement and compliance. While specific updates are limited, the company has continued to promote its lending products and educational content on its website and X (formerly Twitter) account. No major negative incidents have been reported during this period. The platform appears to be steadily expanding its user base by targeting both individual investors and self-managed super funds (SMSFs) in Australia.

Block Earner was founded in 2021 as a blockchain-driven fintech company. In 2022, it completed a A$7 million seed round and launched the Earner yield product, which soon triggered regulatory disputes and a lawsuit from ASIC. In 2024, the Federal Court overturned the previous unfavorable ruling, bringing a turning point for the industry. In 2025, the company became the first crypto enterprise to obtain an Australian Credit Licence (ACL) and completed an A$8 million financing led by Titan Fund. In 2026, the High Court of Australia ruled that its yield product must operate under a license, clarifying the regulatory boundary for crypto financial products—a landmark decision.

Between March and September 2026, Block Earner achieved several milestones. In May, it was granted an Australian Credit Licence by ASIC, becoming the first crypto company in Australia to hold one; the same month it obtained ISO/IEC 27001 certification, followed by SOC 2 Type 1 attestation in June, with SOC 2 Type 2 planned next. On the lending side, it won Excellence in Consumer Lending at the 2026 FinTech Australia Awards, and for the second consecutive year took home both Digital Assets & Web3 Innovation and Most Innovative Team at the Finder Innovation Awards. Its Bitcoin-backed home loan pilot, delivered with Century 21 Home Loans, lets borrowers put Bitcoin toward a property deposit while retaining exposure to the asset, earning finalist recognition for Property Innovation. The company expects to surpass A$100 million in loan originations soon. Officially, Block Earner says crypto and traditional finance are converging, with the future focus on building the infrastructure to deliver crypto-backed lending to every Australian responsibly and at scale, followed by major announcements. It also implemented the Travel Rule from 1 July 2026, using an Address Book to streamline compliance.
