During the past six months (2026-03-03 to 2026-09-03), no reliable major progress from Bison Labs was identified.

The officially disclosed development focus and roadmap continue the progressive security upgrade framework: the current multi-signature (multi-sig) scheme manages Bitcoin assets as the initial phase; it will then be upgraded to Discreet Log Contracts (DLC), where users and the network jointly control contracts, with a normal path and a failure path (users can reclaim assets with a single signature); future plans include introducing BitVM, implementing a non-custodial sidechain based on the Unisob design, enhancing security through bridge operator collateral and challenge mechanisms. The overall roadmap centers on reducing trust assumptions and increasing decentralization.
