About BetDEX
Founded by former FanDuel executives, BetDEX raised a $21 million seed round in November 2021, led by Paradigm and FTX, to build a decentralized sports betting exchange on Solana. In November 2022, BetDEX became the first fully licensed and regulated sports betting exchange on blockchain, receiving approval from the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission, and subsequently entered open beta with over 12,000 early access users.
Co-founders and core executives:
Nigel Eccles (Co-founder, Chairman): Former FanDuel co-founder and CEO. Led FanDuel to become a leading daily fantasy sports platform. Founded BetDEX in 2021 to build a decentralized sports betting exchange on Solana.
Varun Sudhakar (Co-founder, CEO): Former FanDuel senior engineer, previously in investment banking and corporate strategy. Leads BetDEX's overall vision and operations.
Stuart Tonner (Co-founder, CTO): Former FanDuel Head of Engineering (Glasgow). Scaled engineering teams and built core products at FanDuel. Responsible for BetDEX's technology and protocol development.
