About Belo

Belo is an Argentine digital wallet focused on stablecoin payments, designed to help users in Latin America receive, hold, and spend digital dollars. Its core service combines a custodial wallet with local payment rails: users can deposit USDT or USDC, convert them into local currency (Argentine pesos, Brazilian reais), and spend via a prepaid Mastercard, QR code payments, or Pix in Brazil. The app also supports peer-to-peer transfers and cross-border remittances.

Belo's main competitive edge lies in bridging the gap between crypto and everyday finance. It lets freelancers, remote workers, and families receive dollar-denominated income without needing a US bank account, while keeping the ability to spend locally through familiar payment methods. This reduces reliance on informal exchange markets and avoids the high fees and delays of traditional wire transfers.

The market pain point Belo addresses is the combination of high inflation, currency volatility, and restricted access to US dollars in many Latin American countries. Local currencies lose value quickly, and converting income into stable assets is often complex or expensive. Belo provides a simpler, faster way to hold value in dollars and use it for daily transactions.

In the past six months (February to August 2026), Belo has expanded its user base to over 3 million in the region, introduced Pix integration in Brazil, and extended its services to additional countries including Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, and Paraguay. The company also launched new features such as payment links and enhanced QR code support. No major negative incidents were reported during this period, though the service remains dependent on stablecoin issuer risk and local regulatory developments.

Key progress for Belo in the past six months: In March 2026, it launched fiat on/off ramps in Bolivia, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, expanding coverage to six countries including Argentina and Brazil; it also integrated local stablecoins issued by Twin Finance (ARGt, BRAt, BOLt, CHLt, COLt, MEXt). In April, it closed a $14 million Series A led by Tether, surpassed 3 million users, and reported three consecutive years of profitability. Official future focus: leverage stablecoin infrastructure to reduce cross-border payment and FX costs, deepen Brazil, enter Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay, and expand product, engineering and operations teams to fill gaps left by traditional finance.
