About BasePaint
BasePaint is a daily collaborative pixel-art protocol on Base, best described as a collective canvas that resets every day. It targets the isolation of NFT creation and the difficulty of earning ongoing income from one-off pieces. Only holders or renters of a BasePaint Brush can paint, the theme is chosen by community vote, and when the countdown ends the canvas is minted as that day's NFT, with 90 percent of sales split by the number of pixels each address painted and the rest going to the treasury.
Paying by pixel turns collective creation into shareable work and produces a steady daily rhythm, at the cost of letting the majority decide what the piece looks like. As of October 2026 the canvas has run 1,167 consecutive days, with 4,125 artists contributing 144.6 million pixels and about $1.81 million distributed; the past 30 days brought $20,363 in fees and $2,033 in protocol revenue, a small but unbroken operation.
BasePaint launched BasePaint Market monthly packs on June 30, 2026, giving creators a persistent tradable collectible layer beyond its daily collaborative artwork. The project also deployed the v1.14 smart contract and added Smart Wallet support, lowering the onboarding barrier for new users.
