About Axis

Axis is a quantitative yield protocol built around a delta-neutral arbitrage strategy. Its core product is USDx, a synthetic dollar that generates returns by capturing price discrepancies across exchanges, while sUSDx serves as the yield-bearing receipt for staked USDx.

Origin Vault, its retail-facing product, opened deposits on July 29, 2026, with a $50 million cap filled within 22 hours, prompting the cap to be raised to $100 million. Funds are locked for 30 days, with standard redemption taking 7 days (free) or instant redemption at a ~0.3% fee. Axis Prime, launched for institutions, supports 15+ currencies and stablecoins, scans over 25 million cross-asset pricing paths, and maintains average quoted spreads below 10 basis points. It has completed its first OTC order with a major centralized exchange.

The market pain point Axis addresses is that retail investors lack access to institutional-grade market-neutral strategies, while existing DeFi yield sources often involve directional risk or high volatility. Axis provides verifiable, on-chain delta-neutral returns derived from market structure inefficiencies rather than price speculation.

In the past six months (March–September 2026), Axis launched Origin Vault and Axis Prime, expanded its deposit capacity after rapid filling, and demonstrated institutional execution capability. Key risks include USDx being a synthetic, non-fully-collateralized asset that may deviate from $1, as seen with similar products in 2025; counterparty risks from holding funds on centralized exchanges; and strategy capacity constraints as AUM grows, which could compress spreads and reduce APY.

Axis was founded in 2025 by Chris Kim, formerly the first employee of QCP Capital, and its quantitative fund Alphanonce has run market-neutral strategies since 2018, reporting a 36% annualized return, a 4.9 Sharpe ratio, and a peak AUM of $400M.

In December 2025, Axis raised $5M in a private round led by Galaxy Ventures, with participation from OKX Ventures, CMT Digital, FalconX, Maven 11, GSR, and CMS Holdings, marking its first institutional validation.

On July 29, 2026, Axis launched the Origin Vault on Ethereum mainnet via Upshift, opening its previously closed institutional arbitrage book to the public with a $50M cap, accepting USDT, USDC, and USDx. This was the protocol's first public deployment and a key step toward onchain yield distribution.

Axis's long-term roadmap includes expanding from USDx to BTCx and GOLDx, and evolving from a yield generator into a broader onchain liquidity infrastructure, with plans to serve OTC execution, payment applications, and credit markets.

Axis (quantitative yield protocol) has seen major developments in the past six months (2026-03-04 to 2026-09-04):

On July 29, 2026, Axis launched the Origin Vault on Ethereum mainnet via Upshift, opening its market-neutral arbitrage strategy to retail depositors for the first time. The $50M cap was filled within 22 hours, prompting an increase to $100M. The vault accepts USDT, USDC, and USDx, with a 30-day lock period and a 7-day standard redemption window (or instant redemption at 0.3% fee). During the pre-deposit window, users earned 2x Coordinates points, signaling potential future airdrops.

On August 31, 2026, Axis launched Axis Prime, an institutional liquidity and execution service for new banks, brokerages, remittance businesses, and digital asset platforms. Prime supports 15+ currencies and settlement channels, evaluating 25M+ cross-asset pricing paths with average spreads under 10 basis points. It completed its first OTC order for a major centralized exchange.

Official roadmap highlights:

  • Phase 1: Scale the market-neutral engine (8 years of track record, 36% annualized return, 4.9 Sharpe ratio, $400M peak AUM)
  • Phase 2: Expand synthetic assets beyond USDx to BTCx and GOLDx
  • Phase 3: Add RFQ-based asset swaps for brokers, cross-border payments, and crypto card providers

Axis raised $5M in December 2025 led by Galaxy Ventures with OKX Ventures participation. The team has not yet issued a native token but has hinted at governance token plans, with Coordinates serving as the precursor for early user rewards. Current governance remains multisig-controlled.
