About Arcus
Arcus is a decentralized exchange built on Robinhood Chain, offering 24/7 zero-fee trading of tokenized US stocks and perpetual contracts. It currently supports over 95 tokenized equities and 35+ RWA perpetual markets with up to 50x leverage, using USDG as collateral. Users self-custody their assets, and tokenized stocks are issued by Robinhood infrastructure with 1:1 backing but no voting rights or physical redemption. The platform excludes users from the US, Canada, and the UK due to regulatory fragmentation.
Its core value proposition is combining traditional finance assets with DeFi composability: tokenized stocks can be used in lending, yield strategies, or as margin, while avoiding counterparty risk from centralized brokers. The main pain point addressed is the lack of accessible, non-custodial, around-the-clock trading for US equities outside restricted jurisdictions. Since its mainnet launch on July 1, 2026, Arcus has become the leading perp DEX on Robinhood Chain, capturing over 80% of perp volume. Within about two months, it added 13 new perpetual markets and reported $2.18B in beta trading volume, with 1,674 active perp traders and roughly 92K users on the waitlist. However, Arcus has not provided tangible value to DYDX holders; its 7-day perp volume has exceeded dYdX Chain's, and DYDX has fallen about 15% since Arcus launched. No native token exists yet, and no official airdrop details have been confirmed.
Arcus, a decentralized exchange built by the dYdX team and backed by Robinhood Crypto, launched its spot market for tokenized stocks on the Robinhood Chain mainnet on July 1, 2026. The following day, it expanded to include perpetual futures across equities, ETFs, commodities, indices, and crypto assets, with over 95 tokenized US stocks and 35 RWA perp markets. This marked a strategic shift from a pure crypto perp DEX to a multi-asset trading platform bridging traditional finance and DeFi. Notably, Arcus introduced self-custody trading via Privy wallet infrastructure and USDG stablecoin settlement, while supporting tokenized stocks as collateral for perpetual positions—a cross-asset collateral innovation with no precedent in traditional finance. The platform restricted access to US, Canada, and UK users due to regulatory uncertainty around tokenized securities. This launch positioned Arcus at the forefront of the tokenized RWA race, competing with platforms like Uphold, and represented a significant step toward integrating regulated financial products into decentralized exchanges.
Over the past six months (2026-03-07 to 2026-09-07), Arcus, the DEX built by the dYdX team, has made significant strides. Key milestones include:
- Mainnet launch on Robinhood Chain (June 30) with spot trading going live on July 1, offering 95+ tokenized stocks with zero fees and self-custody via Privy wallets.
- Official protocol launch on August 25, introducing tokenized perpetual positions as transferable ERC-20 tokens (e.g., pBTC3x, pHOOD3x) and enabling tokenized stocks as leverage collateral. Cumulative trading volume surpassed $2 billion, with daily average exceeding $100 million.
- Mobile app pre-order opened on August 20 across 160 countries.
Official future roadmap focuses on: expanding stock token listings to 10,000+ assets, adding pre-IPO access to private companies like OpenAI, and rolling out perpetual futures with up to 50x leverage across equities, commodities, indices, and crypto. The Android app is also in development.
