About Arch Network
Arch Network is a Bitcoin-native application platform that aims to bring smart contract functionality directly to Bitcoin through a Rust-based zkVM (ArchVM) paired with a decentralized verifier network, enabling bridgeless DeFi. Key milestones include: in May 2024, the project completed a $7 million seed round led by Multicoin Capital, with participation from Portal Ventures, OKX Ventures, and others. Later that year, it launched its devnet, attracting over 20 stealth-stage projects spanning stablecoins, DEXs, and lending markets. In 2025, Arch announced its mainnet is imminent, with a multi-phased incentivized testnet planned. These events mark its evolution from concept to a deployable network, positioning it as a significant infrastructure layer for Bitcoin-native applications.
Over the past six months (2026-03-02 to 2026-09-02), Arch Network has made significant progress in its mission to build a Bitcoin-native capital markets infrastructure. The project released three major node versions (v0.6.8, v0.7.0, v0.8.0) that substantially hardened the core protocol. Key technical advancements include FROST threshold signature enforcement in UTXO tapscript validation, enhanced DKG participant state handling, streamed storage writes for improved performance, and new irreversible transaction finality logic. The team also strengthened security by restricting bootnode RPC to loopback only and disabling the mainnet faucet. Looking ahead, Arch's official roadmap centers on completing its vertically integrated product suite: Arch Swap for native BTC liquidity and execution, Arch Lend for Bitcoin-backed credit markets, Arch Prime for portfolio visibility and risk management, and Yield Vaults (powered by HoneyB) for automated native BTC yield strategies. The overarching vision is to enable institutional-grade programmable finance directly on Bitcoin, eliminating the need for bridges, wrapped tokens, or custodial workarounds, while maintaining settlement on Bitcoin's base layer.
