About Altus
Altus is a crypto-friendly trading platform that lets users trade tokenized US stocks, ETFs, forex, and precious metals directly with cryptocurrencies like BTC or ETH. Its core business is bridging traditional finance and decentralized assets: instead of opening a brokerage account or converting fiat, users can buy fractional shares of companies such as Apple or Tesla through a wallet, with 7×24 trading and near-instant settlement.
The main pain point Altus addresses is the friction in conventional stock trading—limited market hours, delayed settlement (T+2), and barriers for non-US investors. By tokenizing equities on-chain, it removes those constraints, enabling global access, faster execution, and lower entry costs. Its competitive narrative centers on being a simple, self-custodied gateway between crypto liquidity and real-world assets.
In the past six months (March–September 2026), Altus expanded its asset coverage to include forex and metals, and published a steady stream of educational content on using crypto for stock trades, alongside market commentary on Fed policy and macro trends. No major negative events were reported during this period, though the broader regulatory uncertainty around tokenized securities remains a sector-wide risk.
In the past six months (March to September 2026), Altus's most significant milestone was the public beta launch on August 21, 2026. Operated by Metaloop Inc. (the MPCVault team), the platform allows eligible non-U.S. and non-EU/EEA investors to deposit USDC via Solana as buying power and directly invest in 11,000+ U.S. stocks and ETFs, with fractional shares from $1. Users hold real securities, not tokenized assets. Trading runs 24/5, covering pre-market, after-hours, and overnight sessions. Brokerage execution is provided by U.S.-registered broker-dealer Atomic Vaults Securities LLC, with clearing by RQD* Clearing, LLC, and SIPC protection for securities (not USDC balances).
Official roadmap: Altus plans to add perpetual futures, prediction markets, and international equities from the same USDC balance, plus an Altus Visa card for real-world spending — aiming for one account, one balance, access to global markets. The beta is available on iOS, Android, and web with invite code GOATED; eligible users holding at least $100 in qualifying stocks by August 31 receive a free stock.
