About Altitude
Altitude is a financial operating system built on the Solana blockchain via Squads Protocol, offering global businesses USD and EUR accounts, corporate Visa cards, and multi-rail payments (ACH, SEPA, SWIFT, stablecoins) across 150+ countries.
Core value proposition: self-custody smart accounts on-chain, meaning the business fully controls funds with programmable approval rules and hardware key requirements. Altitude itself never holds customer money; it connects to licensed payment providers for fiat rails while balances sit in stablecoins.
Market pain points addressed: traditional business banking is geographically restricted, slow, and expensive for cross-border operations. Companies serving global customers often need multiple banking relationships, face forced currency conversions, and lack unified treasury visibility. Altitude solves this with one account for all payment rails, automatic FX conversion, and no platform fees on transfers.
Recent development (March–September 2026): launched Altitude Card in March, issuing unlimited virtual Visa cards with up to 2% USDC cashback and granular spend controls. By May, processed $200M+ in payments across 50+ countries. Expanded availability to 150+ countries including US (excl. NY/AK), Canada, Europe, Australia, UAE, India. Introduced 5.00% APY rewards on stablecoin balances. The platform now supports dedicated US routing numbers and SEPA IBANs for receiving payments.
Altitude is a stablecoin-native USD account platform built by the Squads team on Squads Protocol, aiming to provide global businesses with financial services without traditional banks. Key milestones include: securing an $18 million strategic investment led by Haun Ventures, bringing Squads' total funding to $42.9 million and fueling Altitude's expansion.
After its official launch, Altitude has processed over $200 million in payments across 50+ countries and further expanded availability to 150+ countries and regions, marking a significant milestone in global reach. Additionally, it leverages Squads' self-custody infrastructure to ensure fund security, laying a foundation for long-term growth.
Key progress (2026-03-12 to 2026-09-12):
Launched Altitude Card, a virtual Visa card supporting unlimited issuance, per-employee limits, and up to 2% cashback in USDC, with instant Apple Pay/Google Pay integration.
Expanded global availability to 150+ countries (US excluding NY/AK, Canada, Europe, Australia, UAE, India), offering multi-currency accounts, ACH/wire/SEPA/stablecoin payments, and 5% APY rewards.
Integrated Bitcoin (cbBTC) into business treasury, enabling hold/trade/manage BTC within the same platform.
Released CFO Stack combining invoicing, bill pay, and accounting workflows with approval routing and QuickBooks export.
Squads raised $18M strategic round (Solana Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, etc.), totaling $42.9M; Altitude processed $200M+ payments across 50+ countries since Q4 2025 launch.
Future roadmap: corporate cards, batch transfers, deeper CFO suite (reporting/analytics), Bitcoin investing, and credit access.
