About ARO Network
ARO Network is a decentralized edge cloud that turns idle home bandwidth and devices into a distributed infrastructure layer. Its core business involves running lightweight edge nodes on everyday desktops and mobile phones, which contribute residential IPs and compute resources to support AI inference offloading, content delivery, and data scraping services.
The main competitive edge lies in its "AiDN" (AI Delivery Network) concept, which moves AI inference closer to end users to reduce latency. Its geographic proof mechanism ensures contributions are verified based on real residential locations rather than datacenter resources, creating a more authentic and distributed network.
The market pain points it addresses include the high costs and centralization of traditional cloud infrastructure, as well as the latency issues that arise when AI applications rely on distant data centers. By leveraging idle resources at the edge, ARO provides a lower-cost, lower-latency alternative while allowing users to monetize their unused bandwidth and devices.
In the past six months (March to September 2026), ARO launched Testnet Sprint 2, introducing new lightweight node types for desktop and mobile platforms. The network also refined its resource quantification rules to prioritize genuine residential IPs over datacenter resources. Early exploration began on AI inference offloading partnerships, and the testnet has been onboarding real Web2 clients for production workload testing, with steady node growth observed across Southeast Asian markets.
ARO Network completed a $2.1 million Pre-Seed round led by NoLimit Holdings and Dispersion Capital, with funds allocated for testnet deployment, node expansion, and ecosystem building.
In September 2025, ARO's testnet was officially launched, marking its transition from previewnet to an operational resource-driven ecosystem, where node operators began serving real customers and earning rewards. Previously, the previewnet had attracted over 233,000 registered users with over 20,000 weekly active nodes. The team's prior deployment of over 1.5 million nodes generating $140 million in revenue provides a solid foundation. These milestones lay the groundwork for the upcoming mainnet launch and the scaling of the decentralized edge cloud.
Over the past six months (2026-03-02 to 2026-09-02), ARO Network has achieved significant milestones. In March 2026, the project announced the completion of a $5 million strategic funding round, co-led by NoLimit Holdings and an undisclosed leading Asian data center operator, providing enterprise-level infrastructure across the APAC region. Concurrently, ARO officially launched Testnet Sprint 2, which introduced a radically simplified experience for everyday users. By March 2026, the network had surpassed 1.18 million active nodes, with explosive growth continuing into the following months. The project also deployed lightweight node types for desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile (Android) platforms, enabling broader participation. Key technical advancements included the official launch of the IP Proxy core module, featuring a unified proxy pool with intelligent IP rotation, traffic scheduling, and NAT traversal optimization. Looking ahead, ARO's roadmap focuses on transitioning from a general edge network to an Agentic Edge, purpose-built for AI agent collaboration and orchestration. The project is developing AROClaw, a user-friendly version of OpenClaw, to monetize idle resources through intelligent agents. Future priorities include refining the work proof validation mechanism, expanding B2B data services via clean APIs, and growing the network toward millions of nodes to support AI-driven workloads, real-time data services, and distributed computing at scale.
