About ACJR
ACJR is the Association of Cryptocurrency Journalists & Researchers, a trade association founded in 2020 and registered in New York, seeking 501(c)(6) non-profit status, with no on-chain component and no token. It addresses the absence of shared professional standards and peer review in crypto reporting: a membership body of journalists and researchers runs industry forums, training and an annual awards programme, forming a loop of fact-checking, best practice and peer recognition. It operates through a member network and a board elected annually, with awards across best news, feature, scoop, commentary and research, and USD 1,000 prizes for winners.
On 7 May 2026 the association held its 2026 awards during Consensus in Miami Beach, publishing winners across all categories from outlets including Blockworks, the Wall Street Journal, Galaxy Research and The Globe and Mail, with the board seated for the year. It should be distinguished from the similarly abbreviated American Council on Justice and Conflict Resolution, which is unrelated. The influence of a trade body depends on whether the industry broadly accepts its judging standards.
ACJR has sustained its focus on recognizing excellence in cryptocurrency journalism and research over the past six months. In May 2026, it partnered with Bitdeer to organize the awards ceremony at Consensus in Miami, which received over 100 submissions and led to the selection of winners in various categories, including Galaxy Research's work. This initiative highlighted the organization's direction in connecting members and boosting professional visibility through targeted events.
In July, ACJR published its spring/summer newsletter featuring detailed coverage of the award-winning pieces and additional industry research. This continued the momentum from the annual activities by promoting information sharing among members and underscoring ongoing efforts in building professional networks and education.
