About 0xPass

0xPass builds key management and account authentication infrastructure for application developers, and its core product, Passport Protocol, is an MPC-based distributed key management network. Conventional MPC wallets split key shares between the end user and the project backend, so recovery depends on the share the user holds and every transaction must be signed manually. Passport distributes shares only among network nodes and relies on MPC algorithms plus secure enclaves to stay non-custodial, which lets developers define their own sign-in methods (email, passkeys, social accounts, existing wallets) and recovery flows without touching the signing layer.

On top of signing, Passport exposes programmable permissions: per-account transaction policies, address allowlists and spending limits, batched operations, app-sponsored gas, and re-authentication triggered when risk signals change, combined with ERC-4337 smart accounts and EIP-1271 signature validation so dApps approach Web2-style login and checkout while users keep custody. In August 2026 the project published "0xPass: A Secure Protocol for Universal Cross-Chain Accounts" on arXiv, splitting request orchestration, transaction solving and transaction signing into three interoperable layers, using threshold signatures so no single node holds a complete private key, and setting out a staged path from a centrally operated service to a permissioned network and then a permissionless one. The website currently presents Passport Protocol as its product line, supplying SDKs and customizable front-end components to NFT, gaming, DeFi and DAO applications.
