The U.S. Department of the Treasury sanctioned 8 Canadian currency service providers, and ZachXBT previously named two of them
The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has included 8 Canadian currency service providers, accused of aiding the Iranian regime, in the SDN sanctions list during "Operation Economic Outcast." This includes Nia Nations Currency (NNCE), Diverse Trade Inc (also known as Million Exchange/MillionEx), Amin Exchange, Farah Exchange, Darvish Exchange, among others, and lists multiple related TRON addresses.
On Telegram, on-chain detective ZachXBT stated that he had suggested the U.S. Treasury sanction Canadian Iranian over-the-counter traders abused by criminals on the X platform in June this year, pointing out that Nia Nations and Million Exchange had been used for laundering cryptocurrency assets in recent violent home invasion robbery and extortion cases. ZachXBT also mentioned that due to insufficient legal effectiveness, Canada is one of the three worst-regulated jurisdictions globally.
