According to Bloomberg, Japanese IT giant GMO Internet has faced a cyber attack, and hackers claim to have released customer information due to the failure to receive a $50 million ransom. It is reported that its foreign exchange trading services have been suspended and are no longer accepting new subscriptions. In addition, all servers of its domain and cloud service Onamae have been compromised, which may affect users.

It is reported that GMO Internet operates the cryptocurrency exchange "Z.com EX," which has been licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand and the Ministry of Finance of Thailand. Last week, the exchange disclosed that it had been acquired, with the acquisition involving all shares of the target company held by GMO Internet and its related subsidiaries and shareholders.
