Micron Technology Taiwan signs a labor agreement, increasing annual salary on the production line to over 2 million
Micron Technology, a memory manufacturer, recently signed a labor agreement with the Taichung Labor Union. Reports cite the Ministry of Economic Affairs explaining that over 80% of personnel will see salary adjustments of nearly 2.7 times, with production line staff's annual salary increasing from 630,000 to over 2 million.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs also stated that the annual salary for entry-level engineers will rise from 1.45 million to 4 million, while mid-to-senior level engineers will see their salaries increase from over 2 million to 6 million. The union successfully negotiated an increase in the employer's contribution rate for labor retirement to 10%, which is above the industry standard; the day shift allowance for frontline production line staff has been adjusted from 1,500 to 4,500, tripling the original amount.
