Tencent Green Bubble's short drama monthly active users reached 143 million, with a weekly growth of 44.1%
According to sources citing QuestMobile data, as of August, Tencent's short drama mini-program Green Bubble had 143 million monthly active users. In the first week of October, the weekly active users reached 89.68 million, a 44.1% increase compared to the first week of September. After officially renaming the product in July, the weekly active users approached 90 million within about three months.
DataEye monitoring shows that from October 1 to 7, Green Bubble's short drama had a total of 43,000 material placements, with an average daily placement volume increasing by 57% compared to the week before the holiday. The growth mainly came from fully replacing the original short drama mini-program entrance and support from the WeChat ecosystem traffic, which includes Video Accounts. The daily active users of Video Accounts are 600 million, making it a key part of the WeChat ecosystem distribution.
Green Bubble continues to expand its content offerings, including live-action dramas, AI dramas, and animated dramas. Currently, Hongguo short dramas are leading in the short drama sector with a free standalone app model, while Kuaishou, Pinduoduo, Taobao, and Baidu have also entered the short drama space.
